Not everything in Cartagena is Carthaginian and Roman… when night falls on the city, there are other characters that roam the streets eager to share with us the dark chronicle that torments them. Will you dare to meet them? Delve into the lesser known part of Cartagena. We will talk about the mysterious legends that it hides, ghosts, terrifying murders and other macabre stories to keep you awake.
We will wait for you at nightfall in front of the Town Hall, in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, to start our visit talking about the most influential secret societies in history: the Masonic one. This beautiful building is not the only one that hides hidden symbols and stories on its façade.
Symbology and intrigue will accompany us to the main street to discover one of the least known facades of the city: The House of the Stars. We will investigate the history of its past within its walls and suddenly, the footprint of the Freemasons will be discovered again before us.
We will enter the streets of the city as we get to know some of the most unique places and the characters linked to them, such as the house of Don Antonio Escaño or the Plaza de San Ginés, where we will meet the patron saint of the city and the curious legend that surrounds this saint.
We will walk listening to the crimes of the most famous criminal in Cartagena and the circumstances surrounding his own death. But this will not be the only one that will accompany us with his story, we will have to question ourselves if some of the stories remain in the myth or accompany us in reality.
Stay tuned! Masons are still among us and their secrets are still waiting to be revealed. Arriving at the Plaza de la Merced we will find ourselves before the Palacio Aguirre, an emblematic building surrounded by Masonic symbology and esotericism.
We will go up the José Hierro Boulevard to the old Bullring and the Autopsy Pavilion. Shadows, dark lights and sounds can be seen around this ancient place.
At last we will reach the Wall of the Sea and, while we enjoy a privileged view, we will tell about legends of ghost ships and other stories that will keep Cartagena always present in our nightly nightmares.
