Best things to do and see in Cáceres?
Cáceres is one of the best preserved medieval cities in the world, and that is why in 1986 it was declared a World Heritage City by UNESCO.
Our excursions and tours will take you to know every corner of the city, such as the main square of Cáceres which, curiously, is not in the historic center if it was not outside the wall. Near this square is the Torre de la Hierba and the Torre de Bujaco. The latter, of Arab origin, is 25 meters high and currently houses an interpretation center.
Right next to this tower is the Arco de la Estrella which, since the 15th century, has been the main entrance to the walled area of the city. Once inside the old town, our free tour of Cáceres will take you to the Plaza de Santa María, one of the most beautiful and where the Co-Cathedral of Santa María de Cáceres is located, the first Christian temple in the city, and which is surrounded of the Episcopal Palace, among others.
Attached to the Plaza de Santa María is the Plaza de los Golfines, which houses the Palace of the Golfines de Abajo, a place where the Catholic Monarchs stayed when they visited the town, and which you can discover with our guided tours.
