Vitoria - Gasteiz is the capital of the Basque Country and is located in the north of Spain. Its historic center is known as "La Almendra", since its shape is reminiscent of this fruit. Right in this part of the city is located the Cathedral of Santa María, also known as the Old Cathedral; and the Church of San Miguel, the oldest temple in the city.
