Best things to do and see in Oviedo?

Oviedo, the capital of the Principality of Asturias, is one of the most beautiful cities in northern Spain. With our guided tours you will discover the Plaza de la Catedral, or its beautiful old town.

One of the most emblematic monuments is the Cathedral of Oviedo, which is also known as Sancta Ovetensis. In the times of King Alfonso II el Casto, it was where the Camino de Santiago began, so it is likely that you will find a trickle of pilgrims in the area. Within the whole of the Cathedral is the building of the Holy Chamber. A few minutes away is the Museum of Fine Arts, which houses paintings by Goya, El Greco or Picasso.

Thanks to the excursions and tours around the city, you will visit the Plaza de la Constitución, a few minutes walk from the Cathedral. This square houses the City Hall building and the Church of San Isidoro, built in the 16th century. Just over a minute's walk away is the Plaza de el Fontán, where the Market that gives its name to the square is located, and which was built at the end of the 19th century.

With our free tour of Oviedo with the guides in Spanish, you will discover Trascorrales square. Surrounded by buildings with bright colors, it has a statue of a donkey accompanied by a milkmaid.

The Campoamor Theater, where the Princess of Asturias Awards are held, is also the epicenter of opera activity in the city, and it is also one of the most emblematic buildings with the most history.

Thanks to the free tours with which we tour Oviedo, you can visit the Plaza de la Escandalera, which can be reached through Uría street. In the center of the city, we will enjoy the Campo de San Francisco, an urban park that is made up of several promenades and avenues. Gascona street, known as the “cider boulevard”, houses gastronomic places, most of which are cider houses.

4 km from Oviedo we can visit the Santa María del Naranco church, which is on the ascent of Mount Naranco. In a pre-Romanesque style, this building will not leave you indifferent.
