With this Private Trip to Kutná Hora, Silver City you will visit one of the most important places in the Country with the best tourist and local guides. You will not regret this wonderful experience with us. With our guide in Spanish we will pick you up in Prague, the Czech capital, to begin our experience in the Bohemian Region.
Kutná Hora was surrounded by mountains with silver mines that helped the town grow but also made it a settlement for troops during wars. Learn about the history of the Silver City, also known as the Country's Treasure.
In the historic center of Kutná Hora, a UNESCO heritage site, we will see the Plague Column, a sculpture in homage to the victims of epidemics, then we will go to the Italian Patio, passing through the central square. Following the itinerary you will learn about medieval coins. Before reaching the Italian Patio, which was the Royal Castle of Kutná Hora and is now the seat of the town hall, we will see a gateway to the city and remains of the walls, from there to appreciate, from a distance, the Gothic Cathedral.
After the Italian Patio, we will skirt the Church of Santiago el Mayor. Continuing, we will hear about the legend and curse of the Ruthard family. We will pass by the side of a second castle, defender of the entrance to the silver mines and current Silver Museum. A few steps away we will arrive at a public exhibition of sculptures that will remind us of the Charles Bridge in Prague.
At the end of the exhibition is the Gothic Cathedral of Santa Bárbara, those interested will visit its interiors and hear about its peculiarities. This guided tour of Kutná Hora will continue through a viewpoint, the old synagogue and the Stone Fountain, a unique Gothic civil monument.
We will continue with the excursion, but in another neighbourhood, the Sedlec neighbourhood. Here we will visit the Ossuary in the center of a cemetery formerly considered "holy land".
The Sedlec Ossuary is a monument to the victims of epidemics who, due to momentary circumstances, did not have the opportunity to receive last rites and which, although it may seem a bit macabre, contains the classified remains of 40,000 people.
