Things to do Christmas Lights Barcelona Tour
Come and enjoy this magical tour that we have repaired for you. Where children and adults will be fascinated by the spell of Christmas. We will start our tour of the emblematic Plaça de Catalunya, the epicenter and heart of life in Barcelona. From there we will enjoy the spectacular path of lights that illuminates Portal de L'Angel to enter the Fira de Santa Llúcia, a Christmas market that, since 1786, is an obligatory meeting point between mistletoes and nativity scenes. The cold that accompanies these dates precipitates us down Petritxol street where it is tradition to enjoy the best hot chocolate with cream and the ideal prelude to discover the typical dishes of the authentic Nadal casolà menu on Christmas Eve, Christmas and San Sebastián. Direction to the Town Hall, we will get lost in medieval alleys exploring the mystery of his nativity, pagan rites, creeds and celebrations. We will visit a shop dedicated to Saint Nicolas and the Nutcracker whose interior reveals a picturesque alpine village open 365 days a year. Imagine being able to buy reindeer with red noses, tassels and decorated trees all year round. Already in the Center of Plaça de Sant Jaume and next to the Town Hall, we will see what will be a historic atypical image: the Christmas tree without its Nativity scene (to avoid crowds). This will not prevent, Caga Tiò and Caganer by means of, bringing to our memory other characters from the Catalan festive imagination that swarm alongside virgins and donkeys. L ́ home dels Nassos and La Carassa -figures of history and popular tradition- will come to life on our tour. We will continue the walk through the old town passing what was once the Decumano Máximo de la Barcino Romana. There, between the apse of the Barcelona Cathedral and the Plaza del Rey, is the Frederic Marès Museum of Medieval Sacred Art. Here we will appreciate the nativity scene made by the Catalan Federation of Pessebristes which dedicates six months to elaborate the pieces and the scene with care and patience. Overflowing with lights, Christmas carols and escudella d'olla; We will get rid of our Christmas spirit to retrace, through Via Layetana, the path that the Three Wise Men will travel on January 5 in their traditional and long-awaited parade among candies, charcoal and roscones. Don't miss it, reserve your place now!
