Joan being a PhD student of History and Philosophy and ‘born and bred’ in Barcelona was incredibly passionate and knowledgeable during our tour however he talked really quickly and a lot of us did not catch what he said and he moved really quickly - I know we covered a lot of ground and cannot take all day however it was a bit too rushed for some.

“Excellent walking tour through Barcelona's old city”
The tour was greatly organized. We were given headphones to wireless roam around the city and listen to the guide (paid 1eur).
The tour was easy to follow. Lots of valuable information were told. Lots of history was learned. Also, lots of tips&tricks were shared.
Claire, the guide, knew how to create a great atmosphere and give time for pictures and rest as well. She even emailed a list of cafés, bars, restaurants, places to visit in Barcelona.
Overall, a great experience to see the city and learn something about it

There seemed to be a lot of people on the tour, but when the Spanish-speaking group separated out there were only five of us - two Melbourne blokes and a woman from California.
I can’t tell you about the tour - we covered too much ground.

A couple of highlights were the Roman necropolis.
This was discovered at a depth of several metres during excavation for a carpark during the 1950s.
I didn’t get the full story here, but somewhere in the telling of the tale I picked up that tne hoped for messages that went with the speed of a bird, but perhaps they would go at the speed of a turtle. If you rubbed the turtle, you would have good luck. You cansee from the turtle that it’s been rubbed fairly smooth.
All the churches have many gargoyles to ward off evil spirits. Joan explained that this one represented an elephant, but that the maker would never have seen one in the flesh, so this one has incredibly short legs and an improbable trunk.
It was said that if a woman stood beneath it during rain and got wet, she would be able to conceive a child. Since Barcelona has 350 sunny days a year, when it rained there would be a crush of women hoping for a sprinkling.
It was a great tour.

Luke was an amazing guide! Our group had folks from all over the globe, and we all had a blast. Luke showed us all the best spots in the area and shared fascinating stories about Barcelona’s history, from the Romans to the present day. Definitely recommend Luke!

“Old City Tour”
We had our tour with Pedro. We liked the organization and found a solution with headphones quite smart, though for transparency purposes it shall be noted in advance that they are rentals. We did not have a feeling of getting a lot of historical information but may be because it was our second tour already. In general we would have expected more "story telling".

The tour was enjoyable, informative and was carried out at a sensible pace, especially considering how busy it was on St Jordi's Day!
There was lots to learn, the history was great and our guide was very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend doing this walk and will be doing another in Barcelona soon.

I did the tour with Pedro. I can recommend it. Sometimes it was hard to understand everything through the headsets you have to get for 1€, but you can always ask Pedro to explain things again. As there is a lot of content about Barcelona and the city's history, sometimes the explanations are not very detailed, but otherwise the tour would take hours. :)

“Great Tour of Barcelona ”
Pedro was fabulous as our tour guide through Gothic Barcelona. He showed great knowledge of the area and les us through the narrow historical laneways taking great care to explain the street signs and pics from long ago. Highly recommend.
