The Collection of the Russian Museum of Malaga has become the first headquarters in Europe of the State Russian Museum of Saint Petersburg, created in 1895 and with more than half a million works that cover the entire history of Russian fine arts. It is a municipal cultural center located in the old Royal Tobacco Factory, known as La Tabacalera. Long-term exhibitions are renewed every year, with displays including names such as Ilya Repin, Marc Chagall, Wassily Kandinsky and Vladimir Tatlin.
The center has a small auditorium, three projection rooms, children's workshops, a reading room with reference books and a Virtual Museum headquarters connected to more than one hundred places in the world. These facilities allow us to offer a rotating program of conferences, films, literary readings, classical music and folklore that turn this Malaga headquarters into a window through which to peer into the soul of Russia.
