Almeria was chosen in 2019 as the Spanish Capital of Gastronomy. We will begin our visit to the Gastronomic Almeria with an explanation of the most important monument: the Alcazaba of Almeria. Our guide will tell you the history and make an introduction about the city.
Then we will walk through the streets of the historic center of the city to reach the Church of San Juan, the old Arab mosque.
After this tour, we will enjoy a stop at a typical bar in the area where we will have a tapa.
We will continue to the Cathedral Square, to learn about the history of the most important Cathedral in the city, as well as the Constitucion Square, where you will see one of the most emblematic places in the city: the Town Hall. There we will make the second stop at another typical bar and taste another tapas.
We will pass through the Arab Cisterns and continue towards the nerve center of the city, Purchena Gate, the area where the great Arab wall that surrounded the city of Al-Mariyat reached. Finally, we will try a well-known liquor acclaimed by the people of Almería, the American one at the Amalia kiosk, the best known and most typical of Almeria.
