Segovia and Ávila Day Trip from Madrid

Visit the walled city of Avila and the aqueduct of Segovia on the same trip. Take yourself back to the times of the Kings and the mystic.

Are you in Madrid and do you want to visit Segovia and Avila? Well, now you have the best opportunity to do this by coming on our Segovia and Avila Day trip from Madrid. You will visit two of the most beautiful Castilian cities full of history. Segovia is famous for its millennial Roman acqueduct and Avila for its medieval walls. Are you sure you want to miss it?

Our tour begins with a stop in Avila that conserves the most ancient and complete medieval fortified complex in Spain, erected in the XI century. Its walls are 2500 metres long and it has 90 fortified towers. The views from the old city surrounded by the medieval walls are breathtaking. It houses numerous Romanesque style Churches, Gothic palaces and a fortified cathedral of the XII century. Apart from the walls, we will also visit the Convent and Museum of Saint Teresa of Jesus, one of the most well known figures from Avila. Our tour here in Avila ends with a walk around the Cathedral of the Basilica of St. Vincent and Plaza Mayor

Our trip continues towards Segovia. This city was chosen as the official place of Castile by some kings that lived in the beautiful Alcazar. You will be able to visit the Alcazar and discover its history thanks to our English speaking guide. We will also visit the Cathedral, known as “The lady of Spanish Cathedrals” due to its elegance and beauty. However, we couldn´t leave Segovia without a visit to its old Aqueduct, built by the Romans, it is one of the best preserved in the world and is 16km long.

Without a doubt, both of these Castilian cities will surprise you with their medieval old quarters, their stunning walls and aqueduct, their beautiful palaces and elegant cathedrals. It isn´t surprising that Saint Teresa of Jesus experienced such delight surrounded by so much beauty.
