Hiking route through the intramural walls considered an "albacar", an area to lock up cattle. There are a total of fourteen Mills, all dependent on a single water canal of Arab origin. Some Mills remain buried together with their inhabitants due to the rockfall produced in 1919.
Our walking trip begins at the 13th century Almocabar Wall, which was one of the main access doors to the city and gave access to the Barrio Alto and the Muslim Medina.
We go down the path of the Mills with its two preserved Gates, the Wind Gate and the Mills Gate, which form an intramural space that was considered an "albacar", an area to enclose livestock. There are a total of fourteen mills all dependent on a single water canal of Arab origin. Some Mills remain buried along with their inhabitants due to the rockfall produced in 1919.
The view of the place constitutes one of the most pleasant walks, since its views over the Caldera del Tajo, with its orchards and its depths on the banks of the Guadalevin river. We go up the slope of the Descalzos Viejos Winery, the former Convent of the Barefoot Trinitarians XVI century until we reach La Merced Church, Alameda del Tajo and finish outside the Plaza de Toros de Ronda.
