After picking you up from your hotel in Lugo, we'll start the excursion to the Ribeira Sacra from Lugo. This Galician region, known as Ribeira Sacra since the s. XII, is located in the south of the province of Lugo and north of Ourense, in the center of Galicia, around the courses of the Miño and Sil. The area is dotted with Cistercian monasteries hidden in forests on both banks of the rivers, as well as wineries, fortresses, medieval bridges or abandoned towns, such as Belesar, visible only when the river flows down.
We will visit the Ferreira de Panton Monastery, one of the best-known examples of Romanesque art in the area. In addition, we will visit the Pazo de Arxeriz eco-museum that combines the exhibition spaces of the rooms, inside the buildings, with the surroundings of the farm, the gardens, the orchard, the fort and the forest. With the intention that visitors can alternate the interior visit with the exterior walk.
On the other hand, we will go to the monastery of San Estebo de Ribas de Miño, San Paio de Diomondi and San Miguel de Eire, Romanesque jewels of the Ribeira Sacra.
