Starting at the emblematic Plaza de San Lorenzo, one of the old suburbs of Segovia, we will learn about the history and Romanesque architecture of the city.
We start the walk in search of the Eresma River, discovering the old convent of Santa Cruz la Real, now a University, with a history linked to the Catholic Monarchs and the Inquisition.
Following the wall we reach the Eresma valley, crossing the bridge de los Huertos and we know the Alameda del Parral, a place where the poet Antonio Machado used to walk during his time as a teacher in Segovia.
With the Alcazar in the background, we learn about the history of the Mint and its mills, brought by Philip II in the sixteenth century. From there we discover the Hieronymites and their last monastery nestled in the valley, Santa Maria del Parral.
We finished the visit in the Pradera de San Marcos with the imposing view of the fortress of Castile, the Alcazar of Segovia, with that fantasy castle profile.
