This tour of Córdoba of the three cultures is quite complete, ideal to do it on the first day in Córdoba since we give an overview of the richness of the city in all aspects. We will get to know the rich patrimonial legacy that the different towns that have passed through the city have left us.
We will meet in the Plaza de las Tendillas to begin a walking tour in which we will discover the historical stages of Córdoba and how Christians, Jews and Muslims have left their legacy in the city. We will go first to see the Cristo de los Faroles, the most revered sculpture of the people of Cordoba. We will tell you about the legend that surrounds this famous carving sculpted in 1794 by Juan Navarro León.
We will continue discovering the rich heritage of Córdoba by visiting the Roman temple or the churches of San Pablo and San Francisco. Did you know that they are two of the most impressive Fernandina churches in the city? They were built in the time of Ferdinand III the Saint!
Now it is the turn of the Plaza de la Corredera, for a long time it was the nerve center of the city, we will discover why it received the name of Correderra. We have already finished the tour of the Axerquía and it is the turn of the Medina. We will enter one of our favorite streets, there are many people from Cordoba who do not know of its existence.
The next stop will be at the Santa María baths, which date back to the 10th century. This place will allow us to travel back in time to discover how people lived in Córdoba during the time of Muslim domination.
Before touring the labyrinthine streets of the Jewish quarter of Córdoba we will walk through one of the most beautiful streets in Spain, then we will visit the Synagogue (it is CLOSED ON SUNDAYS, HOLIDAYS AND MONDAYS) and we will stop at the Municipal Souk, an essential place to discover the delicate Cordovan crafts .
In the last section of the tour we will walk through the San Basilio neighborhood to see the Cuidadores de los Patios monument, the Royal Stables and the exterior of the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos. We will end the tour of the Córdoba of the three cultures admiring the Roman bridge and the Calahorra tower next to the Guadalquivir river.
