Things to do Cabo de Palos Marine Reserve: Open-Water Swimming

Welcome and Briefing: We’ll meet at the Subup Hostel for a comprehensive introduction to open-water swimming, navigation techniques, and safety rules. • Stretching and preparation: Warm-up at the breakwater, visual acclimatization to the marine environment, and explanation of the route. • Entering the water: a gradual start from the harbor, acclimating to the water temperature, and swimming the first few meters with the safety buoy. • Swim to the lighthouse: we’ll begin the route by skirting the coast, passing through various coves with crystal-clear waters and using the Cabo de Palos lighthouse as a landmark. • 360° Views: Throughout the entire route, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the protected natural area, the Costa Virgen. • Passing Through Coves: We’ll pass through small coves with turquoise waters, taking advantage of the stops to rest, hydrate, and enjoy the scenery. • Arrival at Levante Beach: We complete the loop around the lighthouse by arriving at Levante Beach, with the satisfaction of having swum around one of the Mediterranean’s most iconic lighthouses.
