We will meet at the port of Cartagena , right in front of where the tourist boat docks. The first thing we will see will be the port itself, a hallmark of the three-thousand-year-old city and the reason for its past and present wealth.
We will continue walking bordering the sea until we reach the Naval Museum area, where Isaac Peral's submarine prototype is located. From there we will walk to the Plaza Héroes de Cavite , with its imposing obelisk that pays homage to the fallen. We will walk to the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, with its masterful Palacio Consistorial , one of the jewels of modernism in the city.
Next, we will enter the historic center of the city in the direction of its main monument: the Roman Theater . After this more than obligatory stop, we will continue walking towards the bowels of the city, discovering some of the busiest places in this city, such as Plaza San Francisco , a key place for Cartagena's gastronomy and leisure.
From Plaza San Francisco we will access the neighborhood of the Roman Forum , where we will have the opportunity to go up to Cerro del Molinete to enjoy both its views and the Archaeological Park that is located there.
From there, we skirt the hill to access Santa Florentina Street, with its bakeries and famous churrería, which connects us with Cartagena's Calle Mayor , the heart of the city's historic center.
We finish our free tour of Cartagena next to one of the emblematic buildings of the city: the Gran Hotel .
