Surround yourself with history and culture in a city declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and feel the pleasure of walking through its streets and squares with our Private Tour in Baeza. Enjoy a personalised tour and share it with whoever you want.
Join our Spanish speaking guide and discover the Paseo de la Constitución in the heart of the city, where you will find the Torre de los Aliatares or the Town Hall.
We will visit the Plaza del Pópulo, also known as Plaza de los Leones, which owes its name to the beautiful Fuente de los Leones. It is also home to numerous monuments, including the Civil Court, the Jaén Gate, the Arch of Villalar and the Old Butcher's Shops.
We walk through the Plaza de Santa María, one of the best-known spots in the city, where we can admire the Casas Consistoriales, the San Felipe Neri Seminary, the Santa María fountain and, of course, the majestic Cathedral. The latter is, without doubt, the Renaissance pearl of this city of Jaén. Built on the site of a former Moorish mosque, it still contains arches from the period, as well as Gothic pillars built later. But after approximately two centuries of construction (XIV-XVI), the imposing monument highlights the purest Renaissance style designed by the architect Andrés de Vandelvira, in keeping with the architectural ensemble of the square.
We will have the opportunity to stroll through the Plaza de Santa Cruz, which houses the Romanesque Church of Santa Cruz and the Palace of Jabalquinto.
We will also see the city's Old University and the classroom where Antonio Machado taught his French grammar classes, although we must bear in mind that access to its interiors is subject to opening and closing times.
If you are a lover of history and culture, don't miss the opportunity to enter the intramural city of Jaén, world-renowned for the latent art in its monuments.
