Guided visit to the Episcopal Palace, to enjoy its collection of sacred art, and the Cathedral of Segovia through its sculptural works.
This visit to the Lady of the Cathedrals begins at the Episcopal Palace, so called because it was the home of the bishop of Segovia from the seventeenth to the twentieth century. The palace, away from the tourist route is one of the least known but perhaps one of the most important in the history of Segovia. Belonging to the family of Arias Dávila, Counts of Puñonrostro, to later pass to the family of the Salcedo has undergone several transformations, its facade and the cover dedicated to the works of Hercules are preserved. Inside we will visit the different halls and rooms, with the collection of sacred art that it has. The visit continues to the Cathedral, but not before enjoying the magnificent tower of the Romanesque church of San Esteban and its surroundings.
Once in the Cathedral, the visit to the interior of the cathedral known as "The Lady of Cathedrals" begins. This visit will take you through three of the most important sculptural pieces of the temple, through which the history of the temple and the Castilian baroque art is unraveled. Strolling among the work of Juan de Juni, Gregorio Hernández, Pereira and Churriguera is a rare experience in other cathedrals. The visit ends at the museum, where you can enjoy its collection of tapestries and art gallery.
