Our journey starts in Plaza del Obradoiro, in front of the Parador. This building, currently known as Hostal de los Reyes Católicos, was created as a hospital for pilgrims, what says the Latin inscription on the upper frieze of the façade, and it is still preserved in good conditions.
We can also admire the sculptures of Adan, Saint Catherine, St John the Baptist, Eva, Santa Lucia and Maria Magdalena along its Plateresque gothic façade, and the roman arch where we can admire the figures of the twelve apostles. In addition, two huge emblems flank the wall, where the arms of the Kingdom of Castile and the cross in a circle represent the symbol of the Hospital.
Once inside, we will the Royal Chapel, where the daily mass used to take place when it was a hospital. Outside, we will go through the Apostles Courtyards: San Juan, San Marcos, San Lucas and San Mateo. We will also explore the royal halls, the cloisters, the rooms where the patients were attended and we will contemplate the splendid ribbed vault.
