Reservé el tour para hoy a las 11:00. El guía no apareció. Intenté contactarlo a él y a la empresa varias veces, sin éxito. Esperé 30 minutos hasta que me di por vencido y seguí Google Maps y leí la información en Wikipedia. A las 15:39, la empresa me envió un correo electrónico disculpándose e invitándome a hacer el tour a las 15:00 (¿?). Pésima organización. No puedo opinar sobre el guía ni sobre el contenido porque no hice ningún tour con ellos, pero no los recomiendo. Desperdicié el día y la visita guiada (que podría haber hecho con otra empresa).

“An Outstanding Tour with Lina”
Our tour with Lina was excellent from start to finish. She guided us through Madrid’s most important historic sights and was always patient and attentive when we stopped for photos. Because we had extra time at the end, Lina went the extra mile by helping us try a local drink and taking us to an additional attraction nearby. She was warm, energetic, and incredibly knowledgeable, answering all our questions with enthusiasm. I would strongly recommend this tour, especially with Lina as your guide.

“Exploring Madrid with an Excellent Guide”
My tour guide, Lina, was fantastic and made exploring Madrid as a solo traveler truly enjoyable. She was friendly, engaging, and extremely knowledgeable about the capital’s history. While I already knew some basic facts about Madrid and Spain, the tour gave me a much deeper understanding through rich stories, historical context, local traditions, and famous landmarks. I’m very glad I joined this tour. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in history, literature, and architecture.

“Left the tour early”
We were so excited for this tour but unfortunately it was a real disappointment so we left after about 20 minutes. We started late as we weren't sure who the tour guide was as they didn't have the blue umbrella as promised in the confirmation email. We assumed she was a local chatting in the street to a friend. There was no real intro or orientation - just a 30 seconds explanation that we would be only be able to see inside one house today. It would have been so helpful (like all the other tours we have done) to have a real introduction, to meet the other people on the tour and find out where people are from, and to understand the different places we would see on the tour today. I think it was assumed that we'd understand who the writers and authors were - just a brief explanation of context and scene-setting would have been great. We asked a question on the neighbourhood and how it became an artists/writers quarter, but didn't get an answer beyond "this is the artists quarter". We were sorry to leave, but it was absolutely the right decision for us.

We have done many Freetours in different cities around Europe and we were always very happy with the tour and the explanations.
Not in this case, first we received a whatsapp mesage recommending a 15-25 euros tip.
Then the guide was late, although she told us in a whatsapp she had a delay, then midtour she added a Spanish group to the English speaking tour and about all the explanations were very poor in content.

Avevo dei giorni liberi per girare la città da sola, ma non volevo solo passeggiare per le vie, volevo proprio viverle e sentirle. Scoprire Free Tour è stata la miglior occasione per conoscere meglio la città e questo lo devo ovviamente alla mia guida Nicolò. È stato eccezionale, mi ha raccontato la storia dei vari luoghi, eventi e personaggi importanti di Madrid e anche qualche aneddoto, un valore aggiunto!

“Decepcionante ”
Escogimos este tour porque se distinguía de los demás en qué recorría el Barrio de los Poetas, no obstante, media hora antes del tour nos contacta la guía diciendo que se cambia el recorrido y finalmente no se ve NADA del Barrio de los Poetas, haciéndonos ir a otro punto de encuentro. Además, en este mensaje la guía establece el precio que se debe de pagar.
Seguido a esto, las explicaciones proporcionadas de los diferentes monumentos son pobres e insuficientes. El tour era de 3h y duró 1h45, dejando de lado lugares que estaban establecidos en el itinerario del tour.
Para colmo, al terminar el tour, la guía nos ofrece sentarnos en un bar a tomar algo todos juntos como si fuese una "parada" del tour, nunca habíamos vivido algo así.

No me ha gustado nada. Contraté el tour por el recorrido por el barrio de las letras y hasta que no se inició el tour no me enteré de que modificaron itinerario y esa parte la quitaron. Me dijeron el precio que debía pagar y las escuetas e inexactas explicaciones de la guía no merecían ese dinero, que no debería haberle dado finalmente. Se notaba que no era una guía profesional y que no sabía nada de la ciudad, una estafa.

“Not completely satisfied ”
The guide surely knew a lot but the experience was not much enjoyable, especially during the first part of the tour. During the visit of the poets quarter, in fact, there was very little to see and we spent a long time hearing a lot of information about poets that are not really known abroad. It didn't help that the Lope de la Vega house, that had to be part of the tour, was closed that day (on Monday).
The rest of the tour was better, and interesting facts were explained, but it didn't feel like an organic explanation of the city and its history.
Anyway very good organisation, for sending WhatsApp messages days in advance when the originally planned tour had to be cancelled and for sending a confirmation the day before with hour and meeting point

Leider wurde die gebuchte Tour vorab abgesagt. Beim ersten Mal war das allerdings sehr langfristig, zusätzlich wurden uns Alternativen genannt. Leider musste die Alternative sehr kurzfristig ebenfalls ausfallen. Das kann natürlich immer passieren und aufgrund der Kommunikation wurden wir darüber informiert und warteten nicht vergebens. Da wir aber nur ein verlängertes Wochenende in Madrid waren, konnten wir die angebotene Alternative nicht mehr wahrnehmen.

Para mí, esto era imposible, ya que tenía todo mi plan de visita a Madrid organizado para la mañana, pues por la tarde regresaría a mi comunidad autónoma, que es distinta. Solo faltaban 30 minutos para el inicio del tour cuando me avisó que se cancelaba por falta de clientes. Esto me parece, sinceramente, una falta de seriedad y profesionalidad, ya que no se informó con más antelación.

“Enjoyable tour”
The tour started with one guide having two different groups (English and Spanish language) simultaneously. That made things quite difficult, one group was waiting for the other, caused a lot of delay. After a while the Spanish speaking group left and the tour run way better! There was a flow and good communication, the guide was willing to answer questions and provide advices and recommendations. All in all, a good tour (thanks to the change after the first half).

“Great tour”

I had a 3 hour tour with Nicolo today and it was incredible. He was super friendly, down to earth and knew so much about the history of the barrio as well as all its most famous writers. Definitely worth doing if you get a chance!

“Rich content yet poor organisation ”
Thanks Nicolo to deliver this tour on New Year’s Day! The guide offered a lot of details about the literary circle in Madrid. But the overall organisation was rather poor that we stopped and waited for people to join half way and lost them again. The guide didn’t manage the expectations of the group very well.

“Good time in Old Madrid”
Niccolo was an outstanding guide, knowledgeable, articulate and the agenda was great. We learned lots about the giants of Spanish Literature and more about the historic sites of Old Madrid.
The only downside was that we were the only two on the tour. Usually we share these tours with 6-8 people but with the status of only us two I felt obligated to tip the guide a lot more than I would normally due for these good tours. He was great.

“Insightful History Tour ”
My husband and I really enjoyed this tour with Nicolo. We have done several tours through this company and each one, while different in their own way, never disappoints! We found Nicolo very knowledgeable and open to our questions. I enjoyed this particular tour because of the heavy emphasis on literature and poetry and its connection to the city of Madrid. Definitely recommend this tour and tour guide!

“Ok Tour”
I live in Madrid so I knew most of the places but enjoyed the route as we took some new paths/streets to familiar places. Overall, the tour had good stops and I learned a lot of new things along the way but it was easy to tell that the guide was new. They didn’t know the script well yet and need to work on the delivery. They also seemed nervous interacting with the participants.

“Useful info and a nice friendly guide”
I would like to be in a bigger group of people. The guide (Nicolo) was very friendly and explained really well some parts of the city history. The organisation was perfect, but at the end he got us a little bit confused (whether the palace was called reina sofia or the museum and he mistakenly told us that guernica is located in Prado). Overall: 4,5/5

“Good effort but needs improvement ”
Had a guide from Italy who told me he was doing his 3rd tour. I was his only client session so in essence I got a private tour. While his delivery and skills need improvement, his efforts is commendable. And most importantly he didn't cancel on me even though I was his only client during that session. He could be more familiar with the route, memorise the script and not refer to it too much, and learn how to take better photos! All the best!

“Tour of Madrid”
Nicolò gave us a great, detailed overview of some of the most significant (and most beautiful!) areas of central Madrid. Very friendly guide, and considerate of warm temperatures as he kept us in the shade whenever possible. I learned a lot of interesting information about the city, as well as some good places to check out next time I’m here! The route was excellent and avoided steep hills. We had a lovely time!

“Madrid: Royal Palace, Old Town and Barrio de las Letras Tour!”
A couple of hours well spent with Timka. She was informative, relaxed and if you’re interested in Spanish literary writers of the past, then this is the tour for you. And some relevant Spanish history along the way. Highly recommend.
