“Review: Madrid Free Walking Tour”
Overall, the tour was a great experience! Our guide took us to impressive historical sites and shared fascinating insights about the buildings and their history. We especially appreciated that the tour included not only the typical tourist hotspots but also some lesser-known yet equally interesting spots.
However, there were a couple of downsides. At one point, the guide asked if we wanted to try a shot at a bar. Some of us agreed, assuming it was a complimentary treat, but we were later charged €3 per shot without prior clarification. Additionally, the tour was advertised as lasting three hours but only lasted two, which was misleading and a bit disappointing. I wished to participate in a 3 hours tour and to see more of Madrid :)
Despite these issues, the tour was engaging and informative, and we would still recommend it for those looking to explore Madrid beyond the usual tourist attractions.

Definitely a must while in Madrid, and do it early during your stay, so you can get the most out of the pro tips about where to eat/drink, and how to skip the queues at the sights

Decepcion porque reserve con este grupo de guias y me pasaron a otro grupo distinto, a otra empresa/grupo de guias. Y no decepcion porque a la persona de esta otra empresa que me pasaron EXCELENTE. Asi que por suerte todo perfecto en el gral porque lo pase de diez, encantadisimo del guia. Muy ameno y muy buenos todos los datos que nos dio Javier. No me gusto la actitud de que haya elegido un grupo y que me pasen a otro de otra empresa. Lamentable. Pero bueno por suerte salio bien y una de cal y otra d arena.

Jasmin was a fantastic tour guide offering opinions and information throughout the entire city. It's always nice to get recommendations from locals and the like on places to visit after the tour is over and where's the best place for certain foods and the like. The history was really informative, but not to the point of being boring and a huge history lesson. The stories helped to frame the city and different areas and explain why things are the way they are. This is definitely something to experience while here. Always polite to tip as this is a free tour, and a good way to get passive exercise as it is a walking tour. It was a good 2.5 hours well spent.

“Marek was brilliant ”
We arrived at the meeting point, greeted by our guide Marek, he was very welcoming on arrival, we then started the tour, we visited some of the oldest places in madrid, saw the best place to get churros (the oldest in the city) the cathedral, the Palace and so many more places.
It was an informative and interesting 2.5 hours!
Marek as a guide was fantastic, we tipped 15 euros each which was so worth it for what we saw.
Now I know its not mandatory but some others tipped 5 euro or zero which I don't think is fair when Marek went above and beyond to give us a great experience.
I would highly recommend this tour.

No use of microphone, difficult to hear the guide's voice at times. Guide not local, didn't know that much other than clichés. He shared his own vision of the city life and some facts. Done over 30 tours, this was probably the worst even though it wasn't bad.

The group was small and the guide with lot of knowledge about the city. He replied any questions we had and made the tour interesting and engaging. He also shared his favourite places to have a drink or tapas and which ones to avoid. Although it wasn't my first free tour in Madrid, I learnt facts which I didn't know or hear before. “UN DESASTRE”
Cuando llegamos al sitio convenido con el guía, nos dice que no puede llevarnos porque solo somos dos personas en idioma español y que tiene 4 personas de habla inglesa y que intentemos pillar algún otro Tours. La noche anterior nos llegó un mensaje de Freetour.com recordándonos que teniamos que estar en Plaza del sol a las 11 y que si no podíamos anularamos la visita para no perjudicaros. Me parece correcto vuestro sistema . Ya podían haber anulado nuestra visita avisándonos. Nos perjudicaron totalmente. Un día perdido en Madrid. Espero que solucioneis esto para no perfudicar a ninguna persona más. Simplemente avisando a tiempo al igual que vuestro sistema pide a los clientes. Muchas gracias

El tour fue decepcionante, ya que había reservado un tour en Español y cuando hemos llegado, era en Inglés, la guia fué muy simpática, nos invitó a quedarnos y que nos iría explicando algo entre medio, y decidimos hacerlo de esa manera, aunque no es lo mismo, ya que la explicación completa l transmitía en inglés.
Nos explico que al no haber min 5 personas el tour se anulaba, y por esa razón no se había hecho en Español.

No me gusto mucho el guía, parecía ser un principiante. De igual manera, pensé que era un tour de lugares imperdibles de madrid (que reserve) pero el guía me ha dicho que es el de la madrid de los austrias (que no fue el que reserve) entonces no se si hay alguna diferencia real entre los dos pero no los deberían ofrecer separados si son iguales.

“Nice guide but not the most knowledgeable ”
We enjoyed the tour. The pace was good; we had one person in our group who walks fairly slowly and the guides pace accommodated this. Unfortunately two in our group are hard of hearing and wear hearing aids and missed 80 percent of what the guide talked about. Besides speaking rapidly the guide also had a strong foreign accent that our friends found difficult to understand. She was very friendly and told fun stories however we got the impression that she had learnt the tour info and was not well versed in history. We have been on many walking tours and will do so again. It is a good way to find your way around a new city.

“Free tour was useful and comprehensive”
Our tour provided us with a glimpse of the history of Madrid and Spain in the context of important areas of today’s city. Our guide did not go into painstaking historical detail and Injected just the right level of humor into her narrative. She also was helpful with really any questions and recommendations of where to eat and visit. In addition, she offered additional tours but in a helpful manner. Great overview of the city. Thank so much.

“Great tour even for those born in Madrid”
I'm from Madrid and I did the tour with an Erasmus friend who came to visit me.
Although I know the typical tourist sites of the city, I had the opportunity to know the interesting stories and legends that hide behind the monuments.
The guide is very entertaining and gives many recommendations for a perfect stay in Madrid.
