Address: Carrera de la Virgen, 42, 18005 Granada Built between 1610 and 1671, this Baroque basilica is dedicated to the Virgin of Sorrows, patron saint of Granada and its province. It is a popular place of devotion, especially during the September 15 procession. Arrival at the Crypt of Fray Leopoldo. Located in the Capuchin church, this crypt houses the remains of Fray Leopoldo de Alpandeire, a Capuchin monk highly venerated in Andalusia. He arrived in Granada in 1904 and lived there until his death in 1956. The crypt is a place of pilgrimage, particularly popular on the 9th of each month.
