Delve into and enjoy the history of the capital of Gran Canaria by visiting its old town. On this tour, you will see the main squares and monuments of the Triana and Vegueta neighborhoods. Ideal to start to orient yourself on the island.
At the indicated time, we will meet at the Perez Galdós Theater to begin this free tour of Las Palmas in which we will enter the historic center of the capital of Gran Canaria.
We will first visit the Vegueta neighborhood while we talk about the Guiniguada ravine and how it has influenced the distribution of the old town of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. We will pass through the Plaza de San Antonio Abad, we will contemplate the facade of the Casa de Colón, we will visit the Plaza del Pilar Nuevo and much more.
Of course, we will walk through the famous Plaza de Santa Ana, where the Cathedral, the Episcopal Palace and the Regental House are located. Also, we will see the famous dog sculptures that are located in this area. We will reveal what these dogs represent!
The next part of the free tour will take place in the Triana neighborhood, where you will fall in love with the beauty of the Literary Cabinet building. Nearby is also the house where the writer Benito Pérez Galdós spent his childhood and youth.
Then, we will pass in front of the modernist palaces on Calle Triana, the main commercial artery of the capital and, after two hours of walking, we will end the tour by returning to the starting point.
