Avilés: millenary city and cradle of living history. A tour through original streets and houses, scenes of painters, discoverers of the New World and poets of the Court of the Habsburgs in a unique conservation environment.
I will tell you the popular names and their meanings, even anecdotes and curious stories such as the café La Chichilana or the Bombé walks, and the curious story of a seal "influencer" in the village. We will discover palaces with ghosts or churches that "exchanged saints" or that are "upside down". A street that transforms once a year into a river. We will travel from medieval streets and some buildings of that time to large modernist mansions built as a residence for industrialists who came from "the Americas" in the nineteenth century through baroque palaces and even the jewel of the architecture of the twenty-first century. You will discover that Avilés is full of charming corners. Taking as a starting point the music kiosk in the Parque del Muelle, we propose a quiet walk through the historic district of Sabugo, origin of the city and the emblematic streets of Galiana or Rivero with their houses with arcades that have made them so unique or to contemplate the nineteenth century and early twentieth century Avilés with its modernist architecture.
