This free tour will allow you to get to know Avilés and its spectacular historic center with an official tour guide, so your visit will be as professional and entertaining as a conventional one. During this historical-artistic free tour we will visit the center of Avilés, known as "the Medieval Avilés" and Sabugo, the old fishermen's quarter. The free tour will start in the Calle del Sol, to enter the streets that centuries ago were walled. We will see how important the port was for Avilés and we will be able to contemplate emblematic buildings such as the Palace of Valdecarzana, the Church of the Franciscan Fathers and the Palace of Camposagrado. We will continue to Sabugo, the old fishermen's quarter, where we will learn about the history of the only suburb that existed outside the walled area in the Middle Ages, its streets and its two churches. The tour will end near the Town Hall Square, in Galiana Street, where we will talk about the baroque expansion and some of the buildings that marked Avilés in the 17th century: the Town Hall, the Ferrera Palace and the Julián Orbón music conservatory.
