Things to do Visit to the Torcal de Antequera Natural Area

The city of Malaga is surrounded by great natural environments that you should not miss. One of these key places is the Torcal de Antequera, perfect to spend an entertaining day at any time of the year with the whole family. Don't think twice and come with us to the Route through the Torcal de Antequera, pack your backpack and enjoy the scenery!

Famous for its particular rock formations, which for some are works of aliens, Torcal de Antequera is above all a place of great beauty just 40 minutes from Malaga Capital. To start this 3 km route, we will all leave together from the upper parking lot of the Torcal de Antequera Visitor Center.

On this route we will walk through the Torcal Alto, a part of the natural complex that is characterized by being a bit labyrinthine and we will review the large number of species and bitopes found throughout the Torcal.

The first part of the walk is framed in the Green Route, one of the simplest and with less possibility of loss. After walking through the first meters of this path, we will enter the Yellow Route, which shows a denser and wetter vegetation, also known as shady.

We will explain how plants such as El Dedo, el Camello, la Jarra or la Botella survive in these high areas of Malaga. Although they are not alone, since they coexist with other trees such as the Montpellier Maple, cataloged by the Malaga Provincial Council as a Singular Corner and which is included in the Inventory of Singular Trees and Groves of Andalusia.

The unevenness of this 3 km route is around 53 meters, being a 3-hour tour we can say that it is a tour adapted for the whole family, you can also take your pet, but always tied with you.

If you decide to come with us to make the route through the Torcal de Antequera with Walking Through Europe in the winter months, you may find yourself with snow at the highest levels, so research days before what the weather will be and prepare your backpack well. Don't forget to wear comfortable shoes!
