Join this tour through the most hidden San Sebastian and discover the secrets of spies, Nazis and clandestine networks that marked the city during World War II, a story that few know!
During World War II, San Sebastian was a key enclave in the shadows of the conflict: spies, clandestine networks, looted art, and Third Reich characters crossed its streets. This historical tour reveals the corners where secrets were woven, from luxury hotels to beaches and anonymous garages. We will visit the Real Club Nautico, where Himmler passed through in 1940, and the Plaza de Gipuzkoa, the center of local power. You will visit the Aracama Driving School, formerly a garage used by the Allied Comète network to hide fugitives. On Liberty Avenue we will relive the attempted kidnapping of Nazi spy Georges-Henri Delfanne. A few steps away, on Okendo Street, we will discover the store of Angel El Saldista, denounced by the U.S. as a warehouse of stolen art for Hermann Göring. We will pass by La Concha, where the Nazi criminal Léon Degrelle landed, and La Perla, headquarters of the Blue Division and Nazi rallies in 1941. We finish under Mount Igeldo, one of the most enigmatic places visited by Himmler on his trip to the Basque Country.
