Camino Mozárabe Guided Tour

They say that all roads lead to Rome. Also to Santiago de Compostela. One of the various sections of the so-called Jacobean Route starts from the cathedral of Jaén, the starting point of our Mozarabic tour through the historic center of the Andalusian city.

The Mozarabic Route constitutes an itinerary of the Camino de Santiago that alludes to the Christian population, of Hispano-Visigothic origin, who decided to remain in the territories of the Iberian Peninsula conquered by the Muslims from the year 711. On our walk through the old town of Jaén we will discover how the Mozarabs of the city lived, whose coexistence with the inhabitants of the Islamic religion was not always easy.

We will also know which are the most outstanding points of the Mozarabic Way. We will only carry out the section that runs through the historic center of Jaén, but this route is extended along the so-called Vía Verde del Aceite to other towns in the province such as Torredelcampo, Martos or Alcaudete, then continuing to Córdoba and finally to Mérida, where the pilgrims take the Silver Route that leads to Santiago de Compostela.

At the end of the tour we will give you the Compostelana. If you feel like it, with this official Camino de Santiago passport (you will have the stage corresponding to the city of Jaén stamped) you can go on your own through the different sections that finally lead to the Plaza del Obradoiro in Santiago.
