Discover Vélez-Málaga, the hidden gem of Costa del Sol. Join us in exploring this historic town, which is rich with unique and stunning architecture. Unearth the secrets of its remarkable buildings. Don't miss out!
Our tour will begin in the Plaza de las Carmelitas, right in front of the Vélez-Málaga town hall building. For just over 2 hours, we will walk through the narrow streets of the historic center of the city, finding unique buildings that we can visit, churches, convents, or palace houses. We will explain the stories of illustrious people who have had a great relationship with this city, such as Miguel de Cervantes, who immortalized Vélez-Málaga in his brilliant work "Don Quixote de la Mancha" or the most important Spanish thinker of the 20th century, María Zambrano from Veleña. The first part of the route will take us to a gentle hill, surrounded by beautiful gardens and with spectacular panoramic views of the city, the blue of our Mediterranean Sea, and the mountainous foothills of the Sierras de Alhama, Tejeda, and Almijara natural park. At the top, dominating the entire surroundings, the hermitage of the Santísima Virgen de los Remedios Coronada. When visiting the interior of the temple, we will discover an explosion of color through the impressive murals of the "dream landscapes", the work of the Veleño artist Evaristo Guerra.
