Join us and discover the Santiago pilgrimage city lead by our English speaking guide. Take a stroll along its streets, discover the best-hidden secrets and learn about its history, on this Santiago de Compostela Free Walking Tour.
This journey starts in Plaza del Obradoiro, the monumental centre of the Galicia’s capital, where the impressive Santiago Cathedral stands and welcome thousands of pilgrims after their experience along the Camino de Santiago. In the surroundings of this square, we can contemplate the Hostal de los Reyes Católicos, Colegio de San Xerome and Palacio de Raxo.
We will then continue towards the main squares surrounding the Cathedral: Plaza de la Inmaculada, Plaza de la Quintana, the emblematic Puerta Santa and Plaza de las Platerías. We will get into the narrowest streets of the Old Town, like Rúa do Franco, very popular and plenty of bars and restaurants where you can taste the best Galician gastronomy.
We will also visit Parque de la Alameda, the authentic city centre, where we will witness the amazing views of the Cathedral. Later, we will visit some lesser-known places, but really special: Entrerrúas, Iglesia de Salomé, Facultad de Historia, etc. Then, one of the main landmarks in Santiago is waiting for us: the Market Hall, the famous market where we can see the freshest products coming straight from the nearest ports.
Finally, we will admire the Plaza de Cervantes, and go to our office, where we will give you the city maps and take some group photos. Here, we will put an end to our Santiago de Compostela Free Walking Tour, the perfect option during your stay in the city!
