Sóller is situated right in the middle of a 'valley of oranges' or 'valley of gold', Sóller became prosperous thanks to the great abundance of citrus crops in the valley. In the 19th century, when the area was isolated from the rest of Mallorca by the mountains, oranges were exported to France from Port de Sóller (or Puerto de Sóller), Sóller, along with Palma, is one of the urban centres with the highest concentration of modernist buildings, from here we will take the tram to our next stop...Puerto de Sóller.
