Join our free tour of Guadalajara's Colonia Americana, awarded as the best neighborhood in the world in 2022. Discover its rich history, impressive architecture and vibrant nightlife - don't miss it!
This tour proposes a contemporary reading of Guadalajara through one of its most representative neighborhoods. The Colonia Americana is presented as a space where architecture and cultural creation have built an internationally recognized identity. The experience begins at the Parroquia El Expiatorio del Santísimo Sacramento, one of the most emblematic temples of the city. From this point, we will walk through different streets of the neighborhood to understand its historical evolution and its consolidation as a cultural and creative reference. The area stands out for its neo-regionalist architecture and for having been the scene of the early professional years of Luis Barragán, a key figure in Mexican architecture. We will visit spaces linked to design, local creativity and cultural life, as well as historic buildings that dialogue with more recent urban proposals. The route includes avenues of intense social and gastronomic activity. The experience concludes in an emblematic work designed by Barragán, a closing that allows us to understand how architecture, design and daily life are intertwined in this unique environment.
