Things to do Free Tour through the Monumental Chinchón
At the appointed time, we will meet at the Plaza Mayor and start our Free Tour of Chinchón, one of the most charming villages in Madrid. We will start admiring the almost circular shape of the square and the buildings with wooden balconies, examples of traditional architecture. This is the starting point for learning about the history of Chinchón, from medieval times to the present.
We will walk through the picturesque cobblestone streets and visit the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, a 15th-century jewel known for its impressive façade and interior with valuable works of art.
Next, we will explore the ruins of Chinchón Castle, also called Castillo de los Condes, which was the residence of the Count for 200 years and is an important example of Renaissance architecture. Since 1974, it has been part of the Historic-Artistic Site of Chinchón.
