Come to explore the City of Puerto de la Cruz and learn how a fishing port became the most important port on the Island, connected to 3 continents. I will give you a brief overview of the Conquest of Tenerife, the Ancient Inhabitants and their way of life. We will see the typical Canarian architecture of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, its beautiful gardens. We will visit the houses of old merchants from other lands, including one of the earliest and oldest hotels which opened over 200 years ago. I will explain local feasts including The Carnaval, San Juan, and the boat of the Virgen del Carmen, Patron Saint of Fishermen. We will enjoy this interesting corner of the Island. We will visit: - Harbour of Puerto de la Cruz - Royal customs House from 17th - Puddle Square - Fishermen's quarter - Church of Sint Francisc and Sint John - Iriarte Family House, Ventoso's House - Church's Square of Peña de Francia - Viewpoint of San Telmo to "Lago Martianez" - Europa Square - Town Hall - Miranda's House Join to learn about the interesting History and Heritage of this impressive City. “Agreeable walk with information about the city and culture”
María met us in front of the port of Puerto de la Cruz and took us on an informative walk through the city.
She not only gave a short introduction into the history of the canary islands and Tenerife but also explained many architectural things about the city and it‘s merchant houses.
What we especially liked was the visit of some very nice patios - so we got to see some old houses from inside as well!

“A great overview of the town”
The guide was friendly, informative and spoke very good English. As a local, she was able to take us into places not usually open at the time of the tour to show us interior architecture. I learnt a lot about the history of Tenerife and its peoples and would definitely recommend the tour.

Ha llegado tarde.
Nos ha tenido una hora quietos en el punto de encuentro. Contenido extenso, disperso y redundante durante todo el tour.
El recorrido han sido tres calles contadas.
Se nota cuando la falta de oratoria se mezcla con la escasez de información histórica, porque se vuelve un absoluto aburrimiento.
2 horas y media para ver un puerto y cuatro casas.
No lo recomiendo.

Fue un tour corto. La guía muy amable y le gusta lo que hace pero creo que le faltó recorrer más ciudad. En un tour me gusta aprender lo que no está en internet y en los libros de historia, eso es trabajo de investigación del guía. Me hubiera gustado visitar los murales de la ranilla, solo vimos dos. En definitiva,ampliar el círculo de visita.

This was a great tour all around. Maria told us all about history of the beautiful Tenerife, showed us around Puerto de la Cruz, and all the interesting sites and places. We particularly appreciated that the walk was organised to be mainly on flat ground, as my husband has knee trouble, and Puerto can be very hilly. The tour was fine but in over50% of the time the guide used Spanish words which made the tour einig the worst I ever had (language wise). The guide is very nice but definitely needs to either improve English or just make them in Spanish.
