Things to do The Historic Center of Jerez: a walk from the Alcazar to the Cathedral

The Alcazar of Jerez is a place of great interest. And I do not say it because I have worked here as a guide, it is the most visited monument in the city. From the Almohad period (XII-XIII centuries), inside we can admire the only mosque that is currently preserved in the city, some Arab baths, mills, towers and even a palace of the XVII-XIX centuries. Before going to the cathedral, a walk around the Alcazar will make us meet and discover some of the most outstanding elements of the historic center of Jerez: the church of San Miguel, the Plaza de la Arena, the Calle Larga, the Jewish quarter.... Each of these places hides a little piece of the history of the city, Andalusia and Spain without having to go far away. Finally, we will arrive at the Cathedral of Jerez, a superb building with outstanding artistic elements both on the outside and inside. During the visit, I will accompany you through the Alcazar and the most relevant parts of the center of Jerez, discovering together the history of the city through its monuments, streets and squares.
