The city of Jerez de la Frontera has a heritage and a history more relevant and striking than many might think. Starting from the Alcazar, the oldest monument in Jerez, a walk through its surroundings will make us meet and discover some of the most outstanding elements of the historic center of Jerez: the wineries of Tio Pepe, the church of San Miguel, the Plaza del Arenal, the Calle Larga, the palaces of the Plaza Rivero.... Each of these places hides a little piece of the history of the city, Andalusia and Spain without having to go far away. Finally, we will arrive at the Cathedral of Jerez, a superb building with outstanding artistic elements both outside and inside. During the visit, I will accompany you through the most relevant and emblematic places in the center of Jerez, discovering together the history of the city through its monuments, streets and squares. We met Alejandro outside the Alcazar and from there who took us on a delightful tour of the history of Jerez and a tour of the Alcazar (an option we took up). Alejandro has a deep understanding of the history of Jerez, Spain and beyond. He keeps things as light as you want. I love my history so we had some broader discussions particularly about Cadiz where we are staying and Spain. It was just my husband and i deveiped a nice rapport. This was no colour by numbers tour. I thoroughly recommend a visit to Jerez and a tour with Alejandro

We have an enjoyable and informative 2hr tour with Alejandro in Jerez. As we were the only 2 people on the tour, Alejandro asked us what we wanted to see and do. We had a guided tour of the Alcazar, then gained useful knowledge to orientate ourselves to visit the other attractions and to go to the best places to drink sherry. The tour is highly recommended.

We had a brilliant tour with Alejandro. There were only the two of us, but he went ahead with the tour anyway, which isn’t something you can take for granted! He did a great job of bringing the city’s history to life and we got a really good impression of the city. I truly loved the tour with Alejandro. It was incredibly informative and engaging from start to finish. Alejandro has outstanding knowledge of the city, and you can clearly see how much he loves Jerez and how passionate he is about history.

“Good tour, but the pace was very slow and negative ”
Alejandro was a great guide, but it felt as though he was dragging it out to make it last 2 hours, when an hour would have covered everything.
There was also a bit too much focus on the negatives of the city, rather than its positive.
Sherry industry is in rapid decline, unemployment is at 23%, house and rental prices are too high, former palaces are now delapidated ruins.

Nous avons fait une merveilleuse visite de 2 heures avec Alejandro. Il parle très bien anglais et même un peu de français à l’occasion.
Nous avons apprécié ses nombreuses connaissances sur l’histoire des bâtiments ainsi que sur l’architecture.Il nous a, de plus, renseigné sur le xérès et ses nombreuses influences sur le développement de la ville.

Our guide Alejandro was the perfect fit for our 2 hour tour. He was knowledgeable, spoke clearly and was attentive to our needs. Fortunately for us the less than ideal weather scared off other tourists so we received an unexpected private tour. Visiting a few of the local attractions provided us with an opportunity to ask lots of questions and learn more details about these amazing treasures…and we even got the entrance fees at a discounted rate.

Mi Free tour ha sido en febrero en época de lluvias, pero aún así Alejandro ha conseguido que la visita por Alcázar, Iglesia de San Miguel así como parte del casco histórico y judería y catedral muy amenas, explicando muy bien y de forma de fácil los puntos de Interes y ha sido en todo momento muy paciente con las preguntas y aclaraciones que he solicitados...Un 10 y volvería a repetir con él!!

Although it was a rainy day, Alejandro made it an interesting tour with a lot of historic content. Jerez is a beautiful city with lots of hidden gems that Alejandro showed us.
