We will walk in the footsteps of Emerita Augusta, founded more than 2000 years ago by Emperor Augustus, and we will learn how Romans, Visigoths, Arabs and Christians left their mark on the city. During the tour we will discover Roman temples, imperial streets, palaces, medieval churches and one of the best preserved Muslim fortresses in Spain, ending next to the majestic Roman bridge over the Guadiana River. If you want to understand Merida in a complete and enjoyable way, this free tour is for you. *In compliance with the decree 37/2015 of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura, the guide is obliged to set a price for this service. The price is one euro per attendee*.
