Enjoy a 2-hour guided tour in French in Girona with a passionate local guide. Explore its charming narrow streets, its famous Jewish quarter, and its magnificent cathedral on this authentic and unique walking tour.
Welcome to Girona, one of Catalonia’s most beautiful medieval cities, with over two thousand years of history. As a native of the city and a graduate in History and Classical Literature, I invite you to join me on a lively walking tour that blends major historical events with the legends that the people of Girona love to pass down. Along the way, we’ll explore the city’s mythical founding, the colorful houses along the Onyar River, the Rambla, and the heartwarming legend of Tarlà, before heading to the historic heart of the city: the Call, one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval Jewish quarters, and its Kabbalistic school. We’ll admire the cathedral, with its Gothic nave—the widest in the world—and its “Game of Thrones” set, before moving on to the Basilica of Saint Felix and its famous Lioness. We’ll conclude at Independence Square, a testament to the city’s resistance during the Napoleonic sieges. I’ll also share my top picks for enjoying Catalan cuisine and the xuixo, the city’s iconic pastry. This approximately two-hour walking tour of the historic center is conducted in French. Reservations are free: at the end, you’re welcome to contribute whatever amount you feel is appropriate.
