Join me to explore the stunning city of Cáceres, the “Villa of a Thousand Shields.” Wander its cobblestone streets and discover Renaissance palaces, beautiful mansions, and historic churches. Don’t miss this essential tour!
We will be waiting for you at the Plaza de Santa María, in front of the door of the Co-cathedral, to start our tour of the Monumental Complex of Cáceres. Follow us, and we will tell you the history of the civilizations that once lived within its walls: Arabs, Christians, and Jews. Their legacy still survives in every corner. Our steps will take us to wonderful palaces such as the Golfines de Abajo, the Carvajal, the Toledo-Moctezuma, or the Palacio de Las Veletas. Surely, you have already had the opportunity to take many wonderful pictures, but what if we give an incentive to the palate? We will talk about typical dishes of Extremadura's cuisine: migas, chanfaina, Iberian ham, etc. We will leave you with the best recommendations. How many towers do you imagine we have in Cáceres? We will see many very beautiful, but among all of them, the most famous is the Bujaco Tower; it is not only an authentic symbol of the city but also a reminder of the Andalusian period. Then, we will cross the Plaza Mayor, surrounded by beautiful arcades of the sixteenth century, which today is the nerve center of the city, full of life, restaurants, and people of all ages.
