We start at the Plaza de Santa María, in front of the imposing Cathedral of Burgos, a Gothic jewel declared a World Heritage Site. From there, we head to the Paseo del Espolón, an elegant nineteenth-century boulevard that connects with the Arco de Santa María, an ancient gateway to the city and a tribute to its illustrious characters. We arrive at the lively Plaza Mayor, the social and commercial heart, surrounded by colorful buildings and arcades. A few steps away stands the Teatro Principal, a cultural symbol of the city. We continue to the Plaza del Mio Cid, presided over by the equestrian statue of the medieval hero. We stroll along the modern Paseo Sierra de Atapuerca, next to the Museum of Human Evolution, and cross the historic Arcos de San Juan.
