To speak of Allariz is to speak of history, culture, architecture, gastronomy, or nature. This town, with more than a thousand years of history, blends the rich heritage of its historic center with the tranquility and beauty of the Arnoia River. Are you ready to discover it? We will meet at Rúa do Portelo 23 (next to Santander Bank), and we will walk to Monte do Castelo, where we will start our tour, enjoying a panoramic view of Allariz from a small hill. Don't forget the camera! Did you know that Allariz was once the capital of the Kingdom of Galicia and the residence of kings? We will immerse ourselves in the Middle Ages, visiting significant sites such as the Jewish quarter, the old walls, the Convent of Santa Clara, the Eiró and Mayor squares, and Allariz's four Romanesque churches. This entire historic center was declared a Historic-Artistic Site in 1971. Finally, we will relax with a stroll along the Arnoia River, explaining the river's importance to the people of Allariz, and conclude our visit next to the Coiro Museum.
