I was genuinely excited for this tour, as I had been looking forward to learning more about Vietnam’s war history and visiting the iconic Hoa Lo Prison and National Museum. Unfortunately, my experience with the organization was less smooth than I’d hoped.
After booking, I started receiving messages from the organizers asking if I wanted to switch to a private tour instead of joining the scheduled group. This was a bit confusing, as I had specifically signed up for the free walking tour. Despite my responses, I never received a clear confirmation or update about the tour details.
On the day of the tour, just 10 minutes before the scheduled start, I was messaged again with another offer for a private tour. While I understand that organizers may have reasons for suggesting alternatives, this felt a bit outside the scope of what I expected from a free, group-based experience. It left me feeling uncertain about the arrangements and a little disappointed, as I was really looking forward to meeting other travelers and sharing the experience together.
This is just a reflection on my experience with the booking and communication process. I hope future guests have a smoother and more straightforward experience.
