In the Communist Kraków Tour you will discover that, after World War II, Poland was in the orbit of Soviet influence where the communist party controlled the administration, the economy, the media, education and all other forms of social life in the country. Little by little, a political system of real socialism will be established in a country where, later, the right to strike and the creation of the Solidarity union will be granted.
What was life like in those days in the city of Krakow? Did the city become impregnated with the socialist ideal, or on the contrary, did it rebel against the dictatorship?
We will develop the political, social, moral and cultural aspects of the communist period that occurred both in the city of Krakow and in Poland. We will also deal with the modus vivendi of the city's population under the regime, at a time when people queued up to buy food and even toilet paper.
We will focus on the changes that will be experienced in the city and we will visit some of the government buildings through which the regime will try to internalize the socialist ideal among the population.
A tour to develop the history of the communist regime in the city, and to introduce us to the look that the propaganda of the time showed itself: a utopian vision far from reality, where even some streets had their names changed to promote the single thought.
