All of this makes Nuremberg a vibrant city. Also, the famous trials carried out soon after WWII made Nuremberg the epicenter and bedrock of international jurisprudence.

“long walk but worthwhile”
When in Nuremberg its hard to avoid World War 2 history, but our guide was able to weave this into an interesting dialog at points of interest. I felt that in the interest of time watching the carillon operating could have been skipped. This tour is a lot of walking, especially in the last part up to the castle. Overall well done and recommended.

Having taken numerous free walking tours in many countries, I can confidently say this was one of the best. Vittorio's knowledge of Nuremberg's history, World War II, and the significance of landmarks that most visitors would simply walk past was outstanding. He was engaging, friendly, and answered every question with ease. Having visited several sites the day before, this tour helped tie everything together and gave me a much deeper understanding of the city. We saw a lot of things in Nuremberg and learned about their historical context over time. Martin was very engaging and included interesting anecdotes about his family history. He also made great suggestions for restaurants along the way.
