Free tour of Lagos's History, stories, and tales, with a local – History, culture, and essential tips, both local and region-wide. Come with me! Being an “old school” traveler and experienced hotelier myself, who has already served thousands of travelers from all over the world, I love to show my town in an alternative and independent manner, a bit apart from the same old tours for tourists. So, you will see and hear what most people don't. You will get unbiased tips for food, activities, day trips, and even other places if you wish—not to mention avoiding the “traps.” After this tour, you will have a good idea of what has happened in this town from its origins to the present day. Hear some legends, myths, and stories of one of the oldest human settlements in Europe and how events such as battles or natural disasters dramatically changed this area. We guide in small groups only, and it will take around two hours (maybe some minutes more). Better for the guests, better for us, and better for the town. Thank you for supporting real local people. Please note: unfortunately, my tour is hard for kids younger than 8 years old or people in general with physical or mobility problems.

“The best Lagos walking tour. ”

Arthur was an excellent tour guide. He grew up in Lagos and was so excited to share his experiences with our group. He had so much inside information about Lagos. He shared information that only someone who grew up here locally would be able to. We learned about the ancient history of the town as well as information that took place more recently. He personally knew some of the local artists that had painted murals and the political history of Lagos. Definitely ask for Arthur if you want a tour of Largos.

We recently joined a free walking tour in Lagos with Arthur, and it was an absolute highlight of our trip! Arthur is a fun, engaging guide who grew up in the city and knows it inside out. He kept us entertained the entire time with a perfect mix of history, architecture, creepy stories, and fascinating anecdotes. The time flew by because he made every stop engaging and tailored the experience to our group’s interests. The tour ended at a street food market, where Arthur introduced us to delicious local dishes and crafts—a fantastic way to experience Lagos’s vibrant culture. Highly recommended!

“Amazing tour with a real local, Artur ????????”
We really liked the tour, you can tell Artur loves what he does, art, history and Lagos. Would recommend 100%! We were very lucky because the other people that made the reservation had modified it and still Artur did not cancel our tour, it was a private tour just for us two and he spoke in Spanish (we are from Spain). He also gave us some local pastries to taste and shared with us a pdf and map with more history, tips and recommendations. Thank you Artur!

Arthur was a phenomenal tour guide. He was very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the area. Every few metres he would share a piece of history related to the buildings, structures or artwork. He even got the group some treats from the market because it is closed on Sundays. I loved the tour with Artur! As a local who grew up in Lagos himself, he was able to give us a lot of really useful information and funny anecdotes about the city, but also about the Algarve region.
