Brodie's Free Tour of Lagos
A 2hr walk through the Lagos cobbled streets. A great way to start your stay to learn not only about the history of the 2000-year-old port city, but also many tips to make your Lagos stay more rewarding.
Things to do Brodie's Free Tour of Lagos
I've been living in Lagos for 17 years on and off, and during this time I've learnt a great deal about the history of Portugal and the port city of Lagos. Alongside this I've picked up many secrets on great restaurants, bars and places of interest along with a bunch of money saving tips for travellers. I like to entertain, so I promise a few laughs along the way. The tour will include information about the formation of Lagos, the Age of Discovery, the great earthquake, the Marina de Lagos, the Caravel and some of Portugal's famous sons, Prince Henry, Vasco de Gama, Dom Sebastiao and Gil Earnes. We'll finish the tour with a Portuguese delicacy and hopefully a drink at my favourite bar.

We had a nice, informative and relaxed walk with Brody. He had many tips for things to do. He knew a lot about the history of Lagos and Portugal. In a calm and pleasant way Brody told about the city. He even handed out cookies. We thought it was a shame that the other participants did not have anything for this good tour. It is free, but they also make an effort for you.

You can never go wrong with a free walking tour. Brodie's tour was great! First off, he tries to avoid steep hills, thank you Brodie! He also knows a lot about the city and gave us some great recommendations, which haven't steered us wrong yet. And he will teach you some portuguese. All around, great tour!

Brodie gave a good overview of the old part of Lagos. Brodie’s information was informative, funny at times and with lots of little anecdotes. Brodie does not only cover Lagos’ history but includes that of Portugal.
And you’ll speak 200 words in Portuguese, by the end of the tour (so he claims ????).

Enjoyed Brodie’s introduction to Lagos walking tour. It was a nice paced few hours that gave folks a sense of Lagos without being overloaded with facts. I enjoyed his Portuguese language lessons! Great tips on restaurants - tried one for lunch after the tour and wasn’t disappointed. The street art component was appreciated. A fun way to spend a few hours and I learned a lot without feeling I was back in school.

We contacted Brodie by email and rec'd a quick reply with good directions of when and where to meet. It was Brodie's last tour of the season. Brodie is a very nice young man and very knowledgeable about the historic district, which we toured. You can tell that he has a great love and pride for Lagos and its people. Many of the local merchants greeted him as we walked by. His tips and restaurant suggestions are great and he even helped us with a language lesson. We left with one of the other people from the tour for lunch at a restaurant Brodi suggested and very much enjoyed the authentic Portuguese cuisine. Thanks, Brodie for the excellent tour. “Gem of a Man”
Brodie took us walking yesterday and later that day drove us to Benagil Caves. We got absolutely blasted and went swimming, had a picnic, and played some beach games.
Knowledgeable guide and all around good guy. One of our favourite memories of our Portugal trip for sure.

We were so excited for this walking tour. We were at the meeting point 10 minutes before arrival and waited up to 40 minutes, but the tour never started. We saw Brodie. I checked his Facebook and I saw Brodie at the meeting point. He walked past the group (we were with a few), went inside the store and later went out and just walked away. Probably thought the group was too small so it wasn’t worth his time. Thanks Brodie, nice one. Save yourself the time (and tip money).

Brodie was a great guide and gave really good information about Lagos. On our tour we had a couple of rogue talkers but he was extremely professional and was able to politely get everything back on track while still fielding some side chatter. One of the very best things about Brodie's tour is the amount of additional info he provides via Whatsapp. Also, my husband sent him an email asking for rec's for a day trip and he provided us with some great tips! Highly recommend!

“A new view”
First we saw Brodie on the street giving a tour and asked if he had a card. He gave us one and we signed up on line by the end of the evening. He was prompt at the meeting spot. Very informative, so many things he pointed out that we’ve walked passed the last two days, changed the way we view Lagos and Portugal in general. Brodie sent us a list of his suggestions and we’ve taken a few of those too. You can not be disappointed in this tour and as a bonus you’ll get your 10000 steps in ????
