There were 8 of us and we booked specifically because we wanted a private tour to get us to areas not reachable by walking. We let our guide Juliano know what we wanted to see, so he curated the tour specifically for us beforehand. He was right on time at an easy pick up point, it was easy to communicate with him on WhatsApp, and when we switched things up, he was very accommodating. Our First stop was Armenistis Lighthouse - you can walk on rock formations that surround the lighthouse, and the views are spectacular. Onwards to Ano Mera Village where we went into the Panagia Tourliani Monastery, followed by Kalafatis Beach which we walked for a little bit and collected sea glass. Juliano dropped us off in the main town (Chora) to explore on our own when the tour was over. We recommend the following: eating at a restaurant in Little Venice overlooking the sea - we chose Veranda Bar which is in an 18th century building & former home of the Russian President. the food & drink were delicious; try their Octopus in red sauce with ditalini pasta, Vioma Farm for a cheese tasting, Gerasimo's for delicous baked goods, and Pasta Fresca Barika restaurant is a must for homemade pasta! What can we say - we're Italian and have to eat at least one Italian meal wherever we go. Don't worry about booking a restaurant in advance to watch the sunset - you'll overpay- you can sit anywhere right in town near or beside the beach which we did before hopping on the $2.50 euro ferry to take us back to the port & get back on our ship.
