On this tour, you will learn about the history of Mexico through the contemplation of the murals that adorn the corridors and halls of various museums and public buildings located in the Historic Center of Mexico City. These murals are part of the artistic movement known as Mexican muralism, in which great artists such as Diego Rivera, José Clemente Orozco, David Alfaro Siqueiros, among others, took part. The idea of this tour is to offer the visitor the opportunity to observe not only the most acclaimed and popular murals but also the lesser-known but equally impressive ones. “Fantastic tour!”
Oskar was very knowledgeable about the murals. He explained the context of the murals very thoroughly and well. A very interesting way to learn about Mexican history in the 1920-1950 eras. He patiently answered all our questions and we had no problem understandin because of his fluent english. The tour did not feel rushed either.

“Terrific Murals Tour in the Heart of CDMX”
We thoroughly enjoyed our 3+ hour tour with Oskar! He is incredibly knowledgeable and answered all our questions. He took us to an expansive Diego Riviera mural that charted 500 years of Mexican history and a wondrous library with magnificent, abstract murals. I recently took a free walking tour of the murals by Vlad and Diego in Mexico City, and it was fantastic! Our guide was knowledgeable and shared great stories about the artists. We were glad to have chosen the murals tour with Oskar. He was professional, well-informed, and a pleasure to be with. We toured murals by Rivera, Siqueiros, Orozco, Tamayo, and Vlady.
What splendor! Oskar explained each mural and intertwined the art with the history of Mexico. He answered our questions, gave us options on what to see during the tour, and gave us recommendations to see and do other things while here in Mexico City. There is no fee for the tour. Oskar works hard for the tips he receives and earns.
We highly recommend Oskar and this tour!

Oskar is a brilliant tour guide. He has a nice, welcoming personality and is extremely knowledgeable too. I didn’t know about Mexican history before and he showed me the Diego Rivera Mural Museum and explained the depths of every single character and their relevance to Mexican history in Rivera’s most famous mural there. He is extremely knowledge, educated and intelligent and was excellent at answering in-depth, knowledge-based and analytic questions. He also is a great conversationist, has incredible English and could engage in political conversations about subjects well beyond his area of subject expertise in an engaging way. I would definitely go on a tour again with him and recommend this tour to anyone with a fervour for Mexican art or history.

“Appreciating Murals”
Oskar took us to the Museo de Diego Rivera and the Palacio de Bellas Artes. He explained the murals in great detail giving context and understanding to the works as well as the mural movement in Mexico. Oskar was delightful, smart, articulate, and fun. Oskar is a wonderful guide, knowledgeable and attentive. He had the challenge of conducting the tour for both English and Spanish speakers, working around some blocked street and he did it perfectly. His English is excellent btw.
I expected more of a street tour of murals, but we visited two museums and a library, so I got much more than I was going for.

Oskar was an excellent guide. He elaborated on the stories and personalities of every mural we saw, as well as of the lives of the artists. He answered questions very well and had a nice, easy-going way about it.
I would only suggest more specific directions for the meeting place as I was a bit unsure as where exactly to meet and what he would be wearing.

“A Truly Excellent Tour of Mexico City Murals”
Our guide Oskar Maldonado took us to three locations in Mexico City as we explored the wonders of murals. First stop: Museo Mural Diego Rivera. Second stop: Palacio de Bellas Artes.
