“Great Tour of Vancouver!”
Our tour guide was Daniel and he did an amazing job during the3 hours of the tour. Time flew because we were so engaged. He started by asking us to introduce ourselves and it was amazing to meet so many people from different places around the world and Canada. He concentrated in the different architecture that we were observing. Thanks to him, we fell in love with Vancouver. He also recommended other activities and places to visit after the tour. He had a good pace and he took time to answer all of our questions. Highly recommend this tour. Thanks Daniel!

“A complete joke of guide and tour”
This tour was a complete joke from the second it started.I walked up the guide, tells us that he only lived in vancouver for less than a year, and he's from czechia. He speaks broken english and cannot say proper sentences in english.But yet he's trying to run a tour in english about a city where he's only been for less than a year. I cannot believe how much misinformation. He gave to people on the tour. I'm sure if he didn't know the answer, which he didn't know the answer to anything really He just made stuff up. The best was when we were standing in front of b. C place and somebody asked if they also play Soccer there. And he said, no, they don't play Soccer in Canada. They don't have any interest in Soccer. And he kept going on and on about it, and I finally stopped him, and I said to him, you do realize Vancouver has a professional Soccer team. He looked at me and he said, they do. At this point, we are literally standing in front of bc place under two of the vancouver white caps signs, which is the professional soccer team. Even more of a joke is he knew nothing about the city at all. Everything somebody asked him, he gave a ridiculous answer to because he had no idea. Even worse, the places he took us were a joke. He took us to a coffee shop. He took us to a hot dog shop. He took us to the library. He took us to a random place and said they film a lot of movies there and he took us to a clock steam clock that was our tour.It was a joke. The building He took us to you could not hear a word. He was saying, because of how loud it was and the fact that he could not speak clear or proper english. I have no idea how this little company allows somebody like him to run a tour of a place he knows nothing about. He knew nothing about immigration in canada, everything he tried saying was clearly made up. He knew nothing about canadian football and what it really was when he talked about the building being used for our football. I found it extremely weird. He never talked about the great fire of Vancouver while we were standing on the monuments that were on the ground when we were literally standing on top of them.He never talked about that.He seemed to be obsessed with apartment buildings. And he kept talking about places to drink beer. He also is very negative about the city and Canada. In general, he even went as far as to make fun of the some of the buildings and the architecture and loved to comment. How canada has none?And there's nothing to talk about about their architecture. It was also extremely strange that he didn't talk about any of the aboriginal or indigenous people to the area, which is a big part of vancouver and the british columbia. I have done these tours and all over the world, from one end of the world to the other, and I have never seen such a terrible tour, less organization, an absolutely zero knowledge of the tour, and the city they were in. This company needs to get rid of this guideAltogether, this was the biggest joke i've ever seen in my life, and it was a complete waste of my afternoon.

We had a great tour and I enjoyed it a lot. I really liked the restaurant recommendations as well. A few suggestions to improve: a little tighter introduction round and a shorter tour. 3h are quite long and I believe that 2-2,5h cater better to everyone's needs.

“Daniel was a gem!”
I’m from Montreal, and visiting my son who lives and works in Surrey. We are spending a weekend enjoying the city centre and this tour was a wonderful start to our fun. Daniel, our guide, made it so warm and brought sunshine via his personality through the rain. Though he has only been in Canada for two years, his passion and care for this part of the country was very evident, as he passed on some history and much insight into Vancouver cultures and landscapes. He gave us some indoor breaks to sit for a few minutes out of the rain and a longer one to get a snack. It was such a pleasure to meet such a nice gentleman and the other tourists who were also warm and friendly. Thank you so very much again, Daniel!

“City overview ”
An interesting overview of several blocks in downtown Vancouver, some history and stories about the area. Standing in one spot for the first 30 minutes, while we heard how much we should tip and why, then heard about city history was long (especially when we arrived 10 minutes early - as requested- AND waited until 5 after to begin the tour). Maybe a brief intro and get us walking would work better. Erica knew lots of info and could answer our questions.

“Best guide ever Redwuan”
Red worm is so informative. He kept us interested for the whole 3 hours going from one place to another and added his own personal information. That was I'm sure a lot more above and beyond what I've ever experienced in our free City tour before it was absolutely exceptional.

And we loved his enthusiasm for this beautiful city that we were experiencing for the first time. It was also a treat to exercise our land legs after 10 days on an Alaskan cruise. I enjoyed the architectural highlights but would also have enjoyed a basic history lesson about the origin of the city.

Cameron was a great tour guide with loads of history and information. A fun guy too. Didn’t walk too fast but covered all areas of interest. Also recommend places to eat, see and do.
Definitely recommend doing this on arrival into Vancouver as it will help the rest of your stay there.

“Probably one of the worst walking tours I've been on”
I've been to many walking tours all around the world and I don't think I've ever been this disengaged/dissatisfied with it. Firstly, the guide was late for 30mins and we only found out when we reached out to the contact center. They should have informed us and many of us ended up waiting aimlessly for a while.
The guide, Conrad, turned up and didn't really apologise. And the reason he was late was because he forgot he was on schedule and kind of blamed it on the company.
And this should be a talking tour instead of a walking tour as Conrad really loves talking. Case in point, he gave a 20mins monologue on the history of vancouver which I'm not sure who was listening to anyway. It was clear people were disinterested but he went on and on anyway.
And at the Cathedral stop, he left earlier than the scheduled time and he left without even doing a count to make sure everyone was present. In the end, one family was kind of left behind and had to play catch up! I think he has failed in his primary responsibility as a guide.
I am not sure how long Conrad has been doing this but I will definitely not want to be on another guided tour with him

The content was historically interesting and gave great insight on vancouver but there was less useful info for visiting Toronto. The guide got us to introduce each other but beyond that did little to create an atmosphere. The guide was friendly and helpful but her accent made it a little tricky to understand parts of the tour. The poor microphone didn't help.

“A good way to get your bearings of Vancouver”
We had a lovely day for our tour. Konrad was a good guide and full of knowledge. Some of his tips felt a little more suited to locals (tips for driving) but we covered a lot of ground and still got lots of background on Vancouver. Id liked to have heard some things about living in Vancouver these days; highlights of the city in terms of events etc. Highlight was the stunning Marine Art Deco building. Thanks Konrad!

“Peor de lo esperado ”
La guía al principio de acercarnos nos dijo que no aparecíamos en la lista todo y que teníamos la confirmación por mail, al comenzar nos dijo que la visita valía 30dolares por persona cosa que nos pareció de poca profesionalidad ya que en Toronto hace unos días hicimos con la misma empresa otra visita guiada y la propina para el guía era voluntaria. No nos pareció de ser un profesional pedirle a los usuarios de la visita guiada un precio establecido ya que la empresa mantiene como su nombre dice Free tours, nos pareció que podríamos estar siendo estafados por la guía Erika. Conrad was a great guide. He gave us interesting history and background of Vancouver, showed us some popular and lesser known sites, and provided recommendations for things to do/see.

“Lack of communication ”
We missed the tour by 5 minutes! I emailed to say we were running late. No reply.
I normally do Guru Walks. They always provide a phone number for the guide, who you can communicate directly with. Toonie Tours do not.
I would not use them again or recommend them.

Al guia le falto aportar un poco mas de informacion sobre Canada y la ciudad de Vancouver. Hubiera estado mas bueno que se hubieran aportado fotos y ,en general, necesitaba mas preparacion

“A good use of time”
Great experience. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. We visited many places some of which are not on the beaten track which made the tour interesting.

Overal the tour was ok. Sometimes it was difficult to hear the guide, due to traffic. In my opinion we spend too much time at certain places with too long uninteresting story telling. What I dislike most is the guide indicating the price of the tip they are expecting (30 CAD) and ending the tour at an ATM. If it is named a free tour then just tell your audience it is tip based and let them pay what they think it is worth to them.

“Superb walking tour”
Fran was a very good tour guide! She gave great information, perfect amount of time at each location with some facts and not too much! Really enjoyed this tour and would recommend to all.
