“Dia de los muertos”
we learned a lot about the meaning behind the colorful altars filled with too many offerings,luckly there was a massive exposition of them in the big plaza and Manuel explained every symbolic detail. it was nice to see how people in Yucatan celebrate the day of the death. Manuel told us about this tradition full of symbolism, both for ancient cultures and for people today.

Il nous a raconté l’histoire de Mérida avec des anecdotes fascinantes, en nous montrant des lieux emblématiques que je n’aurais jamais découverts seul. Le tour était en anglais, mais à plusieurs moments, nous avons échangé en français, ce qui a rendu l’expérience encore plus agréable et amusante on sent qu’il aime vraiment sa ville et qu’il a à cœur de transmettre son patrimoine culturel. It was very good. Manuel was very knowledgeable about the history of the city and was able to answer any questions. He also spoke very good English which made it easy to understand him. We really enjoyed doing the tour with Manuel in the afternoon. He started by telling us a great deal about the Mayan and colonial history of Mérida, without leaving out the cultural and social aspects. In the end, it became very interactive with the visit to the city's local market. It has been a very interesting tour.

The link to the meeting place in the email was incorrect. It only took a few minutes to get to Santa Lucia church after we realised the mistake, so not a big problem.

“Our guide Manuel”
Manuel definitely loves what he does. Even though we were the only reservation for the day he didn't cancel the tour and spent two hours in the hot weather walking us around the historical part of Merida. He took in consideration to walk us in the shady side of streets or around reconstruction sites without shortening or extending the assigned tour time. Manuel was friendly . He knew details about the sites and answered our questions. He gave us good recommendations about local restaurants and other places of interest.

“A great way to learn about the historical city of Mérida”
Had a nice walk around the city with Manuel,he was a very knowledgeable guide and friendly so that enhances the experience of this walking tour.Mérida is an interesting city with its buildings and churches,some of them constructed with rocks from the ancient Mayan temples, so it’s really worthwhile to have an explanation of things that you’ll see around the city :)
