In this walking tour, you will be introduced to the Mexican and Yucatecan folklore, architectural styles, music, gastronomy, and, of course, Art. “Great city tour to get informed about Merida!”

This was an informative tour of Mérida that really stood out for the small stories and details I would have missed on my own. These helped contextualize the city and Mayan culture in the Yucatán. We visited the main sites and learned about history, culture, architecture, art, and music. Luisa was clearly passionate and knowledgeable, but at times not very personable, often sharing strong personal opinions, especially about foreigners. When asked questions she didn’t seem to know, it sometimes felt like she improvised rather than acknowledged uncertainty. Overall, a valuable and insightful experience with a few areas for improvement.

“Luisa is fun and informative”

We spent two hours with Luisa to tour the central city of Merida. She blended history along with current information about Merida which was very much appreciated. Easy instructions to meet her at the main plaza next to the Merida letters. Recommended a few eating establishments which we took advantage of as well. Time well spent and we received what we were looking for.

“Merida centro walking tour”

Luisa Ramos led us(honored our booking even though just the 2 of us) on an insightful tour w/emphasis on Mayan history/culture. Just the kind of experience for new-comers that orients visitors to many sites of historical interest, to which one can return and explore in depth. “Amazing tour of Merida ”

“Full of Passion”

Couldn’t recommend this tour enough!! Luisa is a passionate guide who generously shared her knowledge and love of Mexico and Yucatán. There were incredible stories and lessons throughout the walk on everything from history to art to daily lives. We got quite geeky with Mayan history after all the archaeological sites visited and still came away from the tour feeling like we’ve learned so much. Her recommendations for Mérida are spot on. Really glad we did this as our first activity in Mérida!

“Super interesting & informative”

Luisa was wonderful! It was just myself and two kiddos registered for the day. So, we ended up with a private tour, and it was great. She showed us so many different places and shared a fascinating story for each one. Gorgeous architecture & breathtaking works of art all along the way. It was all super interesting and very informative. She even gave us a personalized itinerary of activities to do, and when she learned we were vegetarian, she provided a list delicious meals to try, as well. Cannot recommend Luisa enough.

“Meeida walkingbamd cultural highlights tour”

After a rather awkward start when the tour guide felt she should announce her tip expectations upfront (begore the tour had even begun!) the tour guide settled down and created an interesting walking tour around the historic buildings in central Merida. We enjoyed the tour - the guide was well informed with some interesting historical facts & figures about the town. She was courteous and friendly, spoke good English and we would recommend both the guide snd the tour as an interesting way of exploring Merida and its history.
